Supervision of Police Personnel (SPP)
The two-week SPP teaches the soon-to-be/newly promoted
supervisor how to make a successful transition from officer to
supervisor. Students learn motivational principals, communication,
ethics, professionalism, planning, decision-making, leadership,
community image, and much more from nationally renowned police
administrators who combine extensive personnel and management experience
with solid academic credentials.

School of Police Staff and
Command (SPSC)
SPSC prepares law enforcement managers for senior
positions by combining academic principles with practical applications.
The program is intended for mid- and upper-level supervisory personnel,
and participating students are expected to have at least two years of
supervisory experience. SPSC focuses on four main components:
understanding management, law enforcement management and environment,
human resource management, and skills for planning and analysis.

Executive Management Program (EMP)
The three-week EMP provides intensive instruction for
the policy making executive, and combines management principles with the
study of emerging law enforcement issues. Participating executives
prepare themselves and their organizations to respond proactively to
dynamic public safety environments.

Senior Management Leadership Program
The ten-session SMLP series offers high-quality
professional development in a format designed especially for the busy
law enforcement executive. Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of
the month from 9 a.m.-noon. For those unable to travel to Evanston, SMLP
is also offered as a live webcast that can be viewed from anywhere with
a computer and an internet connection.
