Accident Investigation 1 Online is a self-paced course that is taught online using Blackboard, a password-protected course management system, and can be accessed anywhere an internet connection is available.
Accident Investigation 1 Online provides the same information and comprehensive study of accident investigation as presented in the on-campus courses with the convenience and flexibility of accessing the course sites at a time that works best for you. Once you have registered and received your login information, you can begin your course at any time. Because the courses are self-paced, there are no scheduled course start dates.
Students will learn to take measurements and photographs of the accident scene and to make sketches and after-accident diagrams. Students are expected to complete field projects similar to those completed in the on-campus version of the course.
After successfully completing the projects and tests, you will receive a certificate of completion from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. You will then be prepared to attend the Accident Investigation 2, either online or on campus.
Upon registration, you will receive a copy of the revised edition of J. Stannard Baker’s accident investigation manual, Traffic Collision Investigation, as well as instructions for accessing the online course site.
To order instructional materials, or for help accessing your online course site, please contact Janet Hundrieser at (800) 323-4011.
Additional shipping charges will be applied to international addresses.
