Scholarship Donors The Board of Directors
has set the following policy concerning the Scholarship Endowment Fund:
The
Association shall have a permanent John H. Tierney Scholarship Endowment
Fund. The primary purpose of the John H. Tierney Scholarship Endowment
Fund shall be to provide financial assistance to deserving students
wishing to attend the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC). Scholarship awards
shall be used for tuition and related educational costs. Scholarship
awards not used for the intended purpose within 12 months of the award
shall revert back to the John H. Tierney Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The goal of the Scholarship Endowment Fund was to attain a principal
amount of at least $60,000. The interest earned by the John H. Tierney
Scholarship Endowment Fund may be used annually only for scholarship
purposes.
The idea of
establishing the Endowment Fund was that of past Alumni Association President
John Tierney. It is the position of the current Board of Directors to incorporate
the progression of the Fund as one its primary goals.
As always,
contributions continue to be welcome.
Currently the fund holds more than $80,000 !
